Georgia on my mind

Georgia on my mind was carved from marble, sourced from the Carrera region of Italy. She was completed in May 2014. Georgia was my first experience of working with Marble. A piece of left over stock from the local monumental Stonemasons in Winchester. She was carved While I was researching Egyptian sculpture, and I wanted to capture the formal aspects of the ancient Egyptian art form.

Polished to a very smooth finish, this piece cries out to be touched. A formal statuesque pose accentuates her beautiful tactile qualities. A piece of exclusive British contemporary sculpture. Mounted on a base of Oak.
