Magdalena

Magdalena was completed in 2017 whilst I was living in a Mongolian Yurt with my cat Merlin. Amongst the stunning woodland of South Downs National Park, we spent 3 years living and creating within this ancient and enigmatic woodland.

The piece of Portland stone was sourced from a monumental stone mason in Winchester, Hampshire. An old block covered in moss and lichen in the corner of the yard, has been transformed into a piece of contemporary British sculpture.

Magdalena is a representation of the feminine divine, strength and beauty. The  Portland stone combined with flowing lines of Magdalena, capture the essence of feminine inner strength. Mounted on a stand of Oak and Iron.
