Orchid

Description

This sculpture hand carved from Oak, represents a flower form resting on an unopened flower bud. The sculpture lays at an angle, to best present the coloured interior. Steam bent willow covered in layers of gold leaf was then introduced to give the flower an orchid like quality.

This Sculpture was inspired, like most of my work, through nature. The multitude of colours, textures and forms plant life uses to draw in insects for pollination, to keep itself alive.
