What do I treat the bowl with once I have received it?
All of our bowls are finished with a natural beeswax. Which I would recommend. An old furniture maker I knew when I was young, told me that to finish a piece of wooden furniture takes 10 years….
- Wax polish your piece everyday for a week
- Every week for a month
- Every month for a year
- Every year for 10 years…
- Then, it is finished.
I complete the days and sometimes the weeks, you’ll have the opportunity to complete the rest.
Do you cut down tress for the materials for the bowl?
I don’t cut down trees, I only use materials from storm damaged, or disease related felling. I have a good network of friends and family that are always on the lookout for interested pieces that turn up at the studio door regularly.
